Andrew K. Lewis
Civil Engineering Student
I was born and raised in Georgia. I grew up in Lilburn, GA, and have been in Buford, GA for 12 years. I went to Sycamore Elementary School, Lanier Middle School, and Lanier High School. I have always loved reading and creating stories. I was not always good at math. I wanted to be a Park Ranger until I found out it was nothing like being a Power Ranger. I graduated Lanier High School with honors in 2015.
In 10th grade, I spent my Spring Break in Nicaragua on a mission trip with Amigos for Christ. In that week, I experienced an organization that was really changing the world, I learned what Civil Engineers do, I helped complete a sample 'modern home', and I decided that I wanted to be a Civil Engineer. That spring, I applied and was accepted to the University of North Georgia, where I dual- enrolled during my 11th and 12th
grades, graduating with 45 credit hours of college classes completed. When I graduated from Lanier High School in May of 2015, I remained at UNG, completing 34 additional credit hours: all of my introductory and non-engineering courses. I plan to begin the rest of my college career at Georgia Tech in August of this year.
